Blessed Feast! We've got an extra special episode for this ancient holiday. Our readings are Ezekiel 34:11–16, Psalm 87, II Timothy 4:1–8, and John 21:15–19. Then we have, performed for possibly the first time in English, the festal homily for the occasion attributed to John Chrysostom -- hugely popular in the East, but little circulated in the West. Not being able to find a translation of the text, I did one myself; but then noticed this morning that the Pappas Patristic Instituted had the same idea, so I went ahead and used their version, which picked up on a few nuances I had missed.
