Today we’re celebrating the birthday of Langston Hughes, an American poet, novelist, playwright, and writer known for his leadership in the Harlem Renaissance. One of the earliest innovators of jazz poetry, Langston’s work embraces black culture and ancestry and uses the style of oral traditions to tell stories. Happy birthday, Langston!
