Long before towers were built, there was a longing in the human heart. A longing to belong. A longing to be safe. A longing for our lives to matter. The story of the Tower of Babel is born from that longing. A people gather. They speak the same language. They share the same dream. The people of Genesis 11 are not villains; they are builders, dreamers, and neighbors trying to make sense of a big world. In this three-week series, we listen for the grace hidden in God’s movement. We discover that God’s way forward is often wider than our plans and kinder than our fears. God does not scatter people to abandon them. God scatters people to bless the world – and, along the way, to bless them, too. Sometimes it is only when our carefully stacked bricks come apart that we realize how deeply we are held…and how far love can carry us. “Scattered for a Purpose” based on the scripture from Genesis 11:8-9.
