The poor will rule like kings. Those who mourn are always comforted. The meek inherit the earth. The hungry are filled with good things. Those who are persecuted rejoice. Foolishness? To the world such notions certainly are. Yet our God has flipped the script, so to speak. With the light of his Word, God exposes the world’s wisdom as shameful. Instead he makes his own Son our righteousness, holiness, and redemption. Indeed, Jesus Christ has proven to be the highest wisdom there is!
