In a criminal court case, the testimony of eyewitnesses sheds light on truth that demands the attention of the judge and jury. First-hand accounts that agree with one another can then lead either to an acquittal or a conviction, to freedom for the accused or a death sentence.

What Jesus’ apostles recorded in the Scriptures is quite similar. What they wrote about our Lord’s mighty miracles, innocent death, and glorious resurrection did not come from their own imagination. These were eyewitness accounts that were in full agreement with one another. The result is an acquittal for sinners and an announcement of eternal life. Such eyewitness testimony always demands our attention!
