We tell children to be good, as if they can be. But nobody can be good without a lot of help. God tells his people to be good, because God is holy and good, and then he says something extraordinary: that he will do what it takes to make us good like he is. Today's passages say more about what it takes to be good for the long haul: Leviticus 19-20, Mark 8, Psalm 43, Proverbs 10:17.
