Proverbs Chapter 27 (NLT)

Scripture Reading (0:00–3:00):

A full reading of Proverbs chapter 27 from the New Living Translation.

Special thanks to JD Delgado for providing today’s Scripture reading.

Reflection Questions (3:01–5:29):

Key Scripture 1 — Proverbs 27:5–6

“An open rebuke is better than hidden love! Wounds from a sincere friend are better than many kisses from an enemy.”

Question: God, how can I become the type of person who tells the truth to my friends—even when it’s hard?

Key Scripture 2 — Proverbs 27:17

“As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.”

Question: God, what does it look like for me not only to sharpen others, but to allow myself to be sharpened? How can I grow closer to you—not just on my own—but within the community you’ve placed me in?

Prayer (5:30–6:36):

From the Book of Common Prayer — A Collect for Joy in God’s Creation:

“O Heavenly Father, you have filled the world with beauty. Open our eyes to behold your gracious hand in all your works, that, rejoicing in your whole creation, we may learn to serve you with gladness for the sake of him through whom all things are made, your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.”
