Title: The lost message of Jesus
We were marked on Ash Wednesday, and this will be our first gathering in this season of Lent. The Christian calendar gives us the Gospel passage for this week: Mark 1:9-15. After Jesus' baptism and wilderness training, He emerges preaching the gospel of the kingdom. What if the stories we tell are too small? What if the gospel story is truer, better, and more beautiful than we have imagined? Jesus seemed to teach Christianity as a life, not merely a secure death. Which means that eternal life - abundant life - begins here on earth as we follow the kingdom way of Jesus. Our study for this first week of Lent is called: The lost message of Jesus.
