Title: Why Jesus doesn't want any more followers (JESUS as SENSEI)
We are closely following the Christian calendar this year for the season of Lent, and our text for this week is Mark 8:31-38. This is a very familiar passage that we tend to speak about in general terms -- basic discipleship. We want to take some time to bring these thoughts to another level by examining specifically what it might mean to "deny yourself, take up your cross and follow me” in the area of enemy love. What does it mean to practice Jesus’ teachings in this regard? At the end of the day, what is a Christian? Plan to be with us as we explore apprenticeship to Jesus and love of enemy in a study called: Why Jesus doesn’t want any more followers (JESUS as SENSEI).
