Expectations of a large budget surplus may fall short this year as Federal Treasurer Jim Chalmers prepares to deliver his pre-budget speech. The Treasurer has warned that the nation's revenue will be lower than expected due to sliding iron ore prices and an increase in unemployment figures. It is expected however that a second now reduced surplus is still on track.
