Summary

Beth Wiberg discusses how she used Noah open data for Disaster Response. The Army geospatial Center and rgi collaborated on Operation Blue Roof to provide temporary blue tarps to homes damaged by hurricanes. They used Ai and ml to develop models that detect and identify damage to roofs using Noah aerial imagery. The models achieved a 90% success rate in detecting damage. Open data allows for rapid and efficient disaster response without a paywall. The models can be fine-tuned for new storms, saving time and effort.
