In 1972, Hewlett Packard introduced the HP-35 scientific calculator. Abacus lovers around the world continued to count stuff by hand while most of the world took to the digital doohickey pretty quickly.

In this analogy, all image emails are similar to abaci (that's the word for abacus in the plural form for you non-abacus aficionados). You can still love them, but are they really that efficient?
