The South African Guild of Actors is an NPO representing actors in the film, television, stage, commercial and corporate sectors in South Africa. The organization exists to enhance actors’ working conditions, compensation and benefits and to be a powerful, unified voice on
behalf of artists’ rights. Through advocacy, education, and collective action, they strive to
redefine acting as a dignified profession and viable career choice within a regulated, equitable, and sustainable industry where actors enjoy labour law recognition, royalty entitlements under
copyright law, and systemic protections that prevent poverty within the creative economy. We chat to Jack Devnarain chairman of the south African guild of Actors.
