Good morning! I'm Aaron Jolly. And welcome to the Wisconsin Weather Podcast — it's Wednesday, February 25th.
Step outside right now and that wind will bite. Wind chills near zero in the Fox Valley.. Single digits everywhere else. But here's the silver lining — we stay bone dry through Thursday.
Southeast Wisconsin starts you at 20 degrees under mostly cloudy skies. You climb to 28 degrees around 3 P.M. Winds shift from northwest to west around 11 A.M. Tonight? Clear skies and a low of 17 degrees.
South Central Wisconsin sits at 18 degrees this morning. Same high of 28 around 3 P.M. Winds shift from west to northwest around 7 A.M., gusting to 15 miles an hour. Feels like 6 degrees around 7 A.M. — that's the kind of cold that sneaks through your jacket. Tonight drops to 15 degrees under partly cloudy skies.
Push north to Northeast Wisconsin and winter digs in harder. Currently 14 degrees with a high of just 20 degrees around 4 P.M. Steady west-northwest winds around 7 miles an hour. Feels like zero around 7 A.M. Tonight's low crashes to 10 degrees.
Tomorrow? A preview of what's ahead. Highs climb near 40 in the south, mid-30s up north.
The five-day outlook tells a wild story. Friday is the star — highs surge into the 50s across southern Wisconsin. That's nearly 20 degrees above normal. Saturday flips the script with a sharp cooldown and light snow. Highs drop back to the upper 20s and low 30s. Sunday stays cold with another chance of snow, especially down south.
One more thing — we're gaining nearly three minutes of daylight today. Spring equinox is three weeks out.
That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
