Transcript: The meticulously kept brick home on your right belonged to Anne Bond Fell. She married her cousin, Colonel Edward Fell, whose tomb you just visited. Anne was a sharp woman. She ran her own business at a time when women had few rights. When this house was built around 1765, Shakespeare Street wasn't really a street.
This was all farmland, so the home was freestanding. Anne and Edward expanded the house and built it into a magnificent mansion, although there is some speculation that it was used at one time as a slave quarters or as a kitchen for the Fell estate.
