Today I unpack the impossible standards women put on themselves—what I’m calling female exceptionalism—and how it played out in my week as I constantly feel pressure to change the sexist stereotype that “women aren’t funny.” To lighten the mood, I also dive into not understanding puzzles, shame people who rename rescue pets, and get interrupted by an ice-cream truck right outside my window.
