* ḤadIth The first Ḥadīth in the great compilation Jame’ Tirmidhi, is narrated by Jābir Ibn ῾Abdullāh ,He narrates that Rasūlullāh ,said “Ṣalāt will not be accepted without cleanliness” 

The reason why cleanliness is so important is that it is a pre-requisite, a condition for prayer. Before a person can engage in certain types of prayer like * Ṣalāt, * Tawāf or * reading the Qur’ān, a person must be in a state of Purity. Being in a state of physical purity also safeguards people from many illnesses and diseases.
