In the Brave New World cognitive restructuring is done through media.  Long ago in a book called 'the Medium is the Message' we were warned of this emerging "reality."  The general populace have no idea that their minds have been marketed to them through subtle manipulation.  From womb to tomb or cradle to grave people carry the messages of a culture that has managed to "make merchandise of them" without their awareness.  The careful and candid theologian-prophet the apostle knew this in the 1st century A.D.
