Alyson is joined by Kelly Grace Thomas, poet, coach and author of her memoir-in-verse Future Tense (Alice James Books coming out next month and available for pre-order now). A book about the dual grief of losing her mother while trying to become a mother herself. They talk about grief, the commodification of women' s bodies, breaking the silence around these issues and the beauty of community. Alyson loved Kelly’s book and the surprisingly light hearted conversation it inspired. Check it out!

Some of Alyson’s favorite quotes:

“But does the future ever arrive in the dress we pick out?”

“A body so corrupt not even capitalism could save it.”

“How sick being a woman can make you.”

You can find more about Kelly and her work at her website: https://www.kellygracethomas.com and at her Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/kellygracethomas

You can pre-order Future Tense here.

It's our second 'lost' episode! Recorded back in September 2024, and discovered in the depths of Ria's laptop, we are asking Do you need warm milk (with chocolate) for sleepy times?

Or are you a cold milk only lover? Or is the idea of drinking milk in general disgusting to you?
