Today is September 8, 2016. Travel back with me to this date in 1942. Today we’re in Boston at historic Fenway Park, but we’re not here to see the Red Sox. We’re not even here to see an official game. But the game we are here to see is an important one, because today Boston will host its first ever professional Negro League game when the Philadelphia Stars and the Baltimore Elite Giants play a barnstorming exhibition game.
