Director of Music at Fettes College, Angus Tully, had the delight of hosting the exceptionally talented award winning composer and Old Fettesian, Lorne Balfe (JS, GL 1987-1995) in the Culachy Music School at Fettes.  Lorne Balfe has created music in virtually all genres and for all visual media. Lorne Balfe is a Grammy-winning, Emmy- and BAFTA-nominated composer and producer. Balfe’s work includes the Mission: Impossible series, Top Gun: Maverick, Black Widow,Lego Batman and Gran Turismo. On television, he has scored acclaimed series such as The Crown, His Dark Materials, and Genius. In gaming, his credits include Assassin’s Creed III and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II.

Parents, Old Fettesians and current students filled the audience to enjoy hearing Lorne talk about his work, his career journey and his enjoyment of composition of music for film and TV.  As could be expected the audience had many questions for Lorne Balfe, some of which are unclear in the recording. We felt Lorne's answers were fascinating and worth a listen, so the whole event recording has been uploaded.
