Dan avoided the subject of missions as far as he could manage as a student in Bible school until a comment by his professor convicted him. Many years and dangerous environments challenged him as he served in the Philippines, but it did not shake his commitment to serve in spite of hardships.

Chris did not expect to be called to serve in Latin America as a young man from Canada. But as he learned to depend upon God and His leading, Chris grew in his own faith and began to develop a heart for the people of Ecuador as he lived alongside them.

Lois grew up in Pakistan, where she attended a boarding school and later met her husband, Kyle. Together they have served with humble leadership and quiet hospitality in Bangladesh and in the States. These intercultural relationships and a reckoning with her own weaknesses helped shape Lois’ faith and the way she approaches serving others today.

Growing up in Nepal, Mark’s childhood was not that of a typical American. While his experience overseas disconnected him from American culture, he shares stories from being a boy in Nepal that broadened his perspective on cultures and gave him a new appreciation for their differences.

Delgermaa grew up in a family of Buddhists, but there were many people in her life who influenced her, including one special encounter with God. While her heart remains connected to her homeland of Mongolia, Delgermaa followed God’s leading beyond borders and personal expectations.

Before Kyle Scott was the Executive Director of the Prayer League, he was a boy raised by parents serving in Bangladesh. This lived experience overseas in his childhood led him to pursue continued service in many other countries throughout his lifetime and has informed his style of leadership in ways he continues to learn today.

Emily moved to South Asia with her husband, two toddlers, and another baby on the way. She ended up staying for 10 years. During that time of raising her young family in a foreign environment, she gained a new perspective on building meaningful connections with her neighbors.
