As women, we have been culturally programmed to believe that our worth is subordinate to other people's and that we must prioritize everybody else's needs and wants above our own. These messages have been used to disempower us, but the world is changing, and it's time for a shift. Today's guest is here to discuss the importance of fierce self-compassion.
Kristin Neff is an Associate Professor of Educational Psychology at The University of Texas at Austin. She is a pioneer in the field of self-compassion research, and her upcoming new book builds upon her other research on the importance of compassion. Her work has changed my life, and I'm thrilled to be able to have her on the show this week.
Self-compassion is one of the most powerful resources of coping, resilience, and mental health available to us. The more self-compassion we have, the more we can give to others and the healthier relationships we can cultivate.
My invitation to you this week is to think about this fierce self-compassion. Ask yourself what you need to show yourself both fierce and tender self-compassion, and get clear on that information. The answers are always inside of you.
Join us this week and hear why it takes immense courage to embody fierce self-compassion, the benefits that it brings, and why it is not selfish to take care of yourself. I'm so excited for you to hear this chat and I know that learning about this work will enable you to lead your life authentically and in alignment with your truths and what you need.
