Fight Study - Holly Holm vs Valentina Shevchenko Prediction - UFC on FOX 20
Since this is a Southpaw vs Southpaw match up, I feel like Shevchenko is much better at using her lead hand for counter as opposed to Holly who relies more on her straight left hand. That wont be so available in this fight, therefore I think Shevchenko will likely get the better of the stand up. Although Holly uses a good variety of kicks, she usually uses them to create distance whereas with Valentina's taekwondo background, she has a good arsenal of kicks that will allow her to snap and attack Holly. Valentina also has experience training in Judo, Sambo, and her long Muay Thai experience will help her to secure take downs or trips in the clinch. Holly often gets clipped stepping into the pocket and with Shevchenko's lead hand counters, I could see Holly getting dropped and submitted. Shevchenko has a good ground game on top.
