In a world filled with debates and disagreements, how do we discern what truly matters? Acts 15 recounts a pivotal moment in the early church, where believers navigated complex issues with wisdom, grace, and a focus on the Gospel mission. This message challenges us to engage in the right fights—the ones that uphold the truth of God’s Word and advance His kingdom.
1️⃣ Remain Rooted in the Grace of God
Rather than placing unnecessary burdens on others, the early church affirmed salvation by grace through faith. We are reminded that God’s grace sustains and empowers us. (Matthew 11:28-30, 1 Corinthians 15:10)
2️⃣ Exercise Wisdom in Decision-Making
The apostles and elders demonstrated humility and wisdom, seeking God’s guidance and relying on godly counsel to make decisions. (Proverbs 15:22)
3️⃣ Walk with Maturity and Sensitivity Toward Others
True Christian liberty is expressed in love and consideration for others, prioritizing unity and peace over personal preferences. (Galatians 5:13-14, 1 Corinthians 6:12)
4️⃣ Reengage in the Mission
Despite conflicts, Paul and Barnabas focused on spreading the Gospel, reconciling relationships, and continuing their ministry. Their example reminds us to stay focused on what truly matters: the Great Commission. (Ephesians 4:32, Galatians 6:1)
In the end, fighting the right fight means contending for the faith, walking in grace, and keeping our eyes on Christ’s mission. Like the early church, let’s learn to navigate challenges with wisdom, humility, and a heart to glorify God.
