Today we are joined by Emelie Jimenez, the President of BC Community Project (New Honors Club). BC Community Project is a student-led club that is working on establishing a safe shelter for the homeless community in Miami to have a place to lay their heads at night when they are turned down from certain shelters or have run out of options on where to rest and lay their belongings. The project would also provide the community with resources on COVID testing, education on how to keep themselves safe, where to find food and a community to lean on in times of struggle. 

Emelie speaks to me about how she came up with this idea, issues facing our local community, how students can make a difference with their own ideas, and how she is pushing the BC Community Project forward!
