Dr. Anne Zink has served as Alaska’s chief medical officer since August 2019. Dr. Zink grew up near Denver and spent summers in Alaska as an instructor for the National Outdoor Leadership School. After finishing her medical degree at Stanford University and her residency in Utah, she moved to Palmer to serve as an emergency room doctor at Mat-Su Regional Medical Center. Fourteen years later, she remains a practicing emergency room physician, and before joining the Department of Health and Human Services she served as Mat-Su Regional’s Emergency Department Director (2010-18) and also on its Board of Trustees (2012-18). Dr. Zink is passionate about helping to shape and transform our current healthcare system. She lives with her husband and two teenage daughters in Palmer and enjoys travel and outdoor recreation.
