The word of God says in 2 Chronicles 20:15 "He said, “Listen, all you people of Judah and Jerusalem! Listen, King Jehoshaphat! This is what the Lord says: Do not be afraid! Don’t be discouraged by this mighty army, for the battle is not yours, but God’s." So if the battle is not ours and it belongs to the Lord, then why do I need to fight spiritually? Well, the battle belongs to God, meaning that the battle has already been won BUT we have to participate in the "war" . the Bible give so many examples of physical and most of all spiritual warfare and what is our part as believers. We have been graced with a certain measure of faith and authority that comes from God but with this authority we have to steward and sharpen our authority according to the word. 2 Corinthians 2 :10-11, tells us to walk a certain pathway that we may be aware of the schemes of the enemy. Here is the truth: when we are ignorant of Satan’s strategies, he is able to take things from us that belong to us in Jesus, things like peace, joy, fellowship, a sense of forgiveness, and victory.Ephesians 6 tells us to put on the whole armor of God because we wrestle not against flesh and blood. We as believers can no longer sit on the sidelines and pretend we are not in a spiritual battle but the hoe we have is knowing that the battle is not ours but it belongs to the Lord.
