FileFix is a social engineering technique that builds on a known phishing method used in past ransomware and credential theft campaigns. It replaces more technical-looking prompts with a trusted and familiar Windows interface, making the request feel routine to the victim. By leveraging normal user actions inside a trusted application, the attacker can initiate malicious activity without relying on exploits or suspicious file downloads.
