Kristy founded gen blue AU a little over a year ago. She has always been drawn to the ocean and wanted to be a Marine Biologist since she was a kid. She was obsessed with the sea! This lead her to do her undergraduate in Marine Biology and a Masters in Environment Science/Conservation.

It was when she was studying her Masters Degree that she discovered that she wanted to talk to and educate people about marine conservation. While she believes in research and how it is important, she wanted to become the gap between science and conservation and help educate people using the science to aid marine conservation.

Kristy was born in Queensland and grew up in Melbourne. She loves marine life no matter where she travels or lives. Australia's diversity and natural world never stops amazing her, and is something she has always been extremely passionate about.

Kristy founded Gen Blue because she wanted to help inspire the next generation to care about nature and the marine world. The health of our natural world is ultimately going to depend on their actions. She also simply just loves talking to kids about the ocean and their favourite things about the sea.
