Films can be a great way to keep entertained and escape from the world. During lockdown I think we've all needed that and we've had a lot of fun doing our weekly Film Club Watch Alongs.
Yet, sometimes it isn't right to escape from the world, sometimes we need to take it in and reflect on it.
This weeks genre was due to be documentaries. With the Black Lives Matter movement currently fighting for change and justice around the world, we decided that we would all watch the documentary '13th'.
13th explores the systemic racism in America and how the justice system hugely discriminates against African-Americans.
For obvious reasons we decided not to do a watch along. This is a film that requires our full attention and shouldn't be spoken over.
We'll have a podcast out on Monday where we discuss the impact the film has had on us.
It's currently on Netflix, so please watch this film. It is so important and so powerful and everybody needs to take on board what it lays out.
