First, we are joined by filmmaker Ursula Macfarlane who discusses her latest film, the Netflix documentary Anna Nicole Smith: You Don’t Know Me, which delves into the life of model and TV personality Anna Nicole Smith and the ambiguity surrounding her life.

Macfarlane shares insight on Anna Nicole Smith’s rise to fame, the way the media perceived her at the time, and the documentary’s approach to revealing her life, featuring never-before-seen footage, home movies, and interviews from those who knew her.

Then, we’re joined by Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at UT Health Houston, Dr. Leslie Taylor, PhD, and Director of Networks and Policy at the HOPE National Resource Center at Tufts Medical Center, Dr. Allison Stephens, MED, PhD, who discuss childhood trauma and how it can affect a person’s life as an adult.

Dr. Taylor discusses adverse childhood experiences, the consequences that it can have on children growing up, and how individuals can have increased resiliency in the wake of trauma and adversity.

Dr. Stephens shares insight on how children experience trauma, how positive experiences can ease the long-term impact of trauma, and the work she does with the HOPE National Resource Center.
