Patients with advanced kidney disease undergoing dialysis are frequently affected by the symptom clusters of chronic kidney disease-associated pruritus, or CKD-aP. These symptoms have the potential to significantly diminish patients’ quality of life by affecting sleep, mental health, and more. This activity reviews best practices for communicating with patients about symptoms and how to use shared decision-making strategies to develop personalized CKD-aP treatment plans.
