This is our final episode for season 1, and we decided to go out with a bang💥 as I sit with my best friend, confidant and sister - Shile, which, yes, you guessed right, is also finance girly.
We talk about how she almost pursued a career in Law, and what (or who) influenced her to make the switch. We also discuss how she starting working at her first job to how she moved companies to how her income has grown over the years.
Since she has spent so much time in financial settings, she has a lot of experience when it comes to opportunities for saving, investing e.t.c. We spoke about profiling and segregating funds to give better clarity on what to spend money on.

Hey there! Welcome to Episode 11 of Finance Chat with Maryam.
In this episode, we have rapping superstar, Chinko Ekun!. I have to admit, we spoke a lot about his rise to fame, how he started rapping and his first couple of gigs as an upcoming artist in school.
It was fascinating listening to how he manages his money, fitting into the expectations of the outside world as an artist and how all of these conditions have shaped his financial culture, investment choices and life generally.

Hi guys! Welcome to Episode 8 of Finance Chat with Maryam.
In this episode, I sit down with one of my friends, Fadly. We talk about what he studied in school and how it's so different from what he does during his 9-5. It was also exciting to hear how he transitioned into tech. Financially, Fadly has faced some hurdles and in this episode we talk about how he navigated them - from debts and dodgy investments to weird purchases and more!
When moving to the Netherlands, He also had to mentally adjust as he began paying bills and doing all of this while juggling black tax. This was an interesting discussion and it was wholesome catching up with Fadly to pick his brains!

Hi guys! Welcome to Episode 7 of Finance Chat with Maryam.
In this episode, I talk to artist and frontend engineer, Roxane. We talk about how she was brought up in the Netherlands to Nigerian and Surinamese parents. We discuss her first experience with money, how she works towards financial goals, savings and many more!
Roxane is who you'd find in the dictionary if you searched for the meaning of the word: "Creative". It was refreshing speaking to her and seeing how she developed into being an artist and how early her mom imbibed crucial financial habits into her from a young age.
Have a good listen!
