According to PEW research, over 90% of Americans do not have long-term care insurance. And yet, the Department of Health and Human Services says that more than half of adults 65 or older will need long-term care at some point. This means there’s a good chance that you or your aging parents are going to need long-term care.

And according to the journal of health economics, during early-stage Alzheimer's people are up to 27% more likely than cognitively healthy people to experience a large decline in their liquid assets, such as savings and checking accounts, stocks, and bonds.
