Post-Easter dinner, I reflect a bit on the deeper connection I now feel as a widow attending such kind of family events, as a non-family guest, even though I'm still sitting at the kids' table. It's all because I'm no longer obligated to stay till the end, as I'm my own family. What I say goes, even if I have to leave the cannoli.
