Welcome back to episode two of season two of Find That Film: Streets of Fire. We actually did it! We’ve gone weekly.

This film had the bad luck to debut during the massive movie summer of 1984. As great as it is, it just couldn’t compete with solid genre movies…which this ain’t. Streets of Fire is a Walter Hill dream starring Diane Lane and Michael Pare. While watching this movie you may not be able to pin down whether it’s crime or musical or romance, but you will be able to realize you’re enjoying yourself.

Michael Pare  plays former soldier Tom Cody: a one-man A-Team. He arrives in his hometown to rescue his former flame and recent superstar Ellen Aim (Diane Lane) from kidnapping. Her manager (Rick Moranis) and drifter McCoy (Amy Madigan) aid him in his quest. There are fights for no reason, a biker gang led by a very menacing Willem Dafoe, and lots of music. It’s beautifully bizarre. Settle down with some popcorn and Find That Film.
