Sono tanti i motivi di gioia e di gratitudine che mi spingono a questo racconto, finora vissuto gelosamente in privato, ma la gioia più grande, da un po' di tempo a questa parte, è notare che il fenomeno 'vita' funziona esattamente come intuito e descritto dal primo Budda storico Shakyamuni, come spiegato da Nichiren Daishonin nel XIII secolo e attualizzato da quello che considero il mio maestro, Daisaku Ikeda. 

Ci sono stati anche dolori, malattie, lutti. E l'energia vitale per affrontarli. Ma ciò che conta è che direzione diamo all'esistenza, alla nostra mente e al nostro cuore insieme, 'kokoro' in giapponese. Il buddismo mi ha cambiato la vita, e ve lo racconto senza pudori." 

Questa è la storia di Antonello Dose. Una storia intensa, empatica, dolorosa. Svelata anche negli aspetti più duri, con una scrittura lieve e luminosa che ci sorprende. Prima di incontrare Ikeda, Dose ha avuto due maestri: Eugenio Barba, il grande guru del teatro di ricerca, e Enrico Vaime, il gran maestro del varietà radiofonico e televisivo. 

La sintesi inaspettata che ne deriva, di leggerezza e di radicalità antropologica e mistica, fa di questo libro di iniziazione al buddismo una lettura difficile da dimenticare.
