A Minute at RepcoLite

Finding a Way to Get "Unstuck", Part 2

Listen Later

Transcript:

Yesterday I ran through a long list of projects that need to be completed around my house–it seems everywhere you look something needs to be done.  I’m Dan Hansen and this is a Minute at RepcoLite.

That list of projects is so overwhelming that I don’t know where to start. So I don’t. I’m stuck. I do the daily jobs, but the extra stuff always gets pushed to the side. And the pressure and the guilt build up.

I know a lot of us are there. So, how do we fix it and start moving again? Well, the first step is to lose the guilt and the pressure. They are negative influences and negativity doesn’t produce creative action. It shuts it down. Beating yourself up for stuff you haven’t done is not going to get you moving again. So Cut yourself some slack!

Home ownership and home care is a marathon not a sprint. It can be a slow process and that’s ok. You don’t HAVE to have things finished tomorrow or by the weekend. It’d be nice, but if you don’t you’re not a bad homeowner and you’re not lazy. You’re just busy.

So ease up on yourself. That’s first. But we can’t stop there. We need to start moving. We’ll dig into that next time. I’m Dan Hansen and that’s a minute at RepcoLite.
