Finding Comfort When Lonely
Loneliness can feel like a heavy weight, a silence that echoes in our hearts. In these moments, it's easy to believe we are unseen and forgotten. But the truth is, we are never truly alone—God is always with us.
Psalm 34:18 reminds us, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." Even when we feel isolated, God is near, tenderly holding us in His love. His presence is not dependent on our emotions; it is a promise.
Jesus Himself knew loneliness. In the Garden of Gethsemane, His closest friends fell asleep in His hour of need. On the cross, He cried out, "My God, my God, why have You forsaken me?" (Matthew 27:46). Yet, even in that moment, He was fulfilling God's plan to draw us closer to Him. Because of Jesus, we can be assured that God will never leave us.
When loneliness creeps in, turn to Him. Open His Word and let His truth remind you of His nearness. Pray honestly, knowing He listens with love. Seek fellowship with others who can encourage and uplift you.
You are deeply loved, seen, and known by God. Let His presence be your comfort. He is with you, always.
Prayer: Lord, when loneliness fills my heart, remind me that You are near. Help me to find comfort in Your presence and to trust in Your love. Amen.
