In this podcast episode I interview Javier Garcia. He grew up on the southside of Chicago in one of the most dangerous neighborhoods named "Back of The Yards." As a child he is excelling in baseball and makes the all-star team. He tells his parents to come to his game to see him play and they never showed up. That one day of disappointment he equates into rejection and he makes the decision to never play baseball again. Feeling hurt and rejected, in due time he finds himself getting drawn into the streets and finds himself deep into the gang life and culture. Violence becomes the norm and he finds himself being shot on four separate occasions. Drug dealing and moving up into gang leadership land him behind bars where ironically he experiences true freedom. Tune in to listen to man's testimonial.
