For many Christians, our relationship with God is stuck in the soul realm: we just use our intellect and emotions, but it never reaches the spirit. Were not capable of doing what we need to be doing if there is no brokenness. Brokenness is the process where self dies and Gods will is promoted. God cannot use and bless a person He cannot break. Just like a piggy bank that needs to be broken in order to get the money out, so are we as Gods children needing to be broken for God to get the treasure out that hes put on the inside of us.
