What happened to Gabby Petitio was tragic, heart breaking and infuriating. We can only imagine how much fear and panic she must have felt, with no one around to rescue her and bring her back to her loved ones, safe at home. We know that thoughts and prayers will never be enough to heal the hearts of her family.

The way social media stepped up in sucha profound way to find her, was amazing. But as women of color, I'm sure many of us asked ourselves, "OIf that were me, would there be national outrage? Woudl the entire country rally together to find me, or my remains, and bring me home to my loved ones?"

This episode covers the glaring disparities between the disappearance of a white woman versus the tens of thousands of missing and murdered women of color, and how the energy behind finding them and seeking justice for them, just isn't the same.
