I once sat next to a young woman who told me all about how she was planning her upcoming wedding. She was talkative, excited, and happy. But next to her sat a friend who had just found out she didn’t get the job she wanted. Her friend felt lonely, and was struggling to feel joy.

The Bible says in Ecclesiastes that there is a “time for everything, and a season for every activity under the sun… there is a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them” and so on. The beauty of seasons, is that they end: fall always turns into winter, and spring always shows up after winter. The only constant, who does not change with seasons, is Jesus Christ. So, friend, today I encourage you—wherever you are in your life—to put your faith in Jesus. Whether you are in a season of rejoicing, or a season filled with trials, you can find rest and even joy in your daily life by trusting the Lord and leaning on His understanding. As you do this, you’ll be better equipped to reach your world with the Good News.
