This weekend marks my first attempt at an ultra marathon. I will be taking part in the Sri Chimnoy 24hr Self-Transcendence race at Battersea Park, London, UK. Oh, and it's conducted round a 400m athletics track! No change of scenery, unless you count the switch of direction every 4 hours; no hills, no trails. Just me, my thoughts and endurance to sustain me.
I can't wait! It will be an opportunity to explore my limits and devote a whole day to the purity of running. Here I will be testing out my theory that I'm at my happiest when running. This exploration into the pain cave will reveal all - I hope.
