There’s a common belief that joy comes from the absence of pain. But over the years, life has shown me something very different. Joy and sorrow can exist side by side.
In this episode, I explore compassion as a pathway through pain and suffering — not by denying our grief or heartache, but by softening toward ourselves and others in the midst of it.
Inspired in part by the beautiful wisdom shared in The Book of Joy by the Dalai Lama and Archbishop Desmond Tutu, I reflect on how compassion can ease suffering, deepen connection, and open the door to greater joy.
I also share simple ways we can practice compassion in everyday life through presence, kindness, listening, and small acts of care that create meaningful ripples in the world around us.
This episode concludes with a gentle guided meditation designed to help you deepen compassion for yourself, for others, and for the world we share.
Wherever you may be on your journey right now, I hope this conversation offers a soft place to land.
