At the animal shelter at Frederick County Animal Control, a fair number of cages are empty. It is surprising considering how many articles talk about pets coming to shelters after people decide they no longer want the Christmas puppy or kitten.

Fortunately, the Frederick County shelter does not see that many returned Christmas animals, division director Linda Shea told producer Heather Mongilio.

Shea spoke with Mongilio about adopting an animal and gave her a tour of the shelter.
