Creating your own Fuck Yeah Life requires big change and unfortunately, the support system of family and friends that you can normally depend on won’t be enough. They hold a special place in our hearts and they’re extremely important, but they aren’t the ones you need to get through a big life change like this.

Unpopular opinion incoming… your bestie, your auntie, your ride-or-die, probably isn’t the one that can help you through this. 

1. They want to keep us safe and they encourage us to play things safely.
2. They know who we have been and have a hard time imagining us in another way.
3. Who we are now feels safe and comfortable to them, and they may benefit in some way from keeping things the same.
4. They can only support us as far as they have done their own work.

It’s really scary embarking on big newness all alone. We are the product of the company we keep. We need to intentionally cultivate friendships in people who will protect your light.
