The woes of being woke. In this episode of TheTwoTwelve, I caught this audio on some sneaky shit. I was invited to a Taco Tuesday/Game night and shit got political, and I wasn’t the reason for once. It was a male led conversation and I believe we’ve all heard similar sentiments. We spoke about our views on voting, the importance of black history in school and the result of the lack thereof. I understand the need for this dialogue to constantly be happening but also understand the stress it may cause someone to just sit and talk about it with no solution. I decided to sit this conversation out and hear the thoughts of those around me without contributing and it brought an amazing episode with much to think about.
