Veronica Carrera is the author of "140 Miles of Life: A Remarkable Journey to Self-Acceptance and Love". She is from Guayaquil, Ecuador, where she had a single mother and a strong affinity for sports, particularly competing in triathlons. Her mother passed away when she was nine years old, leaving her to her grandmother. Sports were a source of strength in her life and helped find her place that she calls the "sacred home within".
She emphasizes the importance of dispelling external noise and distractions on the journey to one's true self. For Veronica, that journey was catalyzed by the childhood trauma of the sudden departure from her father's side and her mother's passing. Her life was filled with impermanence, loss, and a strong desire to find meaning and make sense of her existence. She initially found purpose and meaning in the Mormon Church. However, she faced the challenge of being homosexual, which created a sense of rejection from the church and a deep longing for acceptance by God. That’s when she faced her “Dark night of the soul” and not long after she decided to leave the church, her community and embark on a journey of finding who she really is, her authentic self.
Veronica shares a very strong message of breaking generational patterns and recognizing the wisdom passed down from her ancestors while forging her own path and making the most of the tools she has been given. Veronica believes in the power of inner wisdom and guidance, allowing emotions to flow gracefully and then using them to move forward in life. She highlights that all relationships are mirrors of the relationship with the self. This means viewing each person as a fellow human being with their unique journey, rather than comparing or feeling inferior. Her's journey to self-acceptance and love has led her to a place of inner peace, where meaningful connections and shared experiences are valued. Tune in to hear Veronica’s powerful life story and wisdom.
